CURRENT STUDIES
The following list identifies collaborative research programs that the Urology Group of New Mexico is participating in:
- Men who have been diagnosed with High Grade PIN. This is a precancerous diagnosis that does not provide any current therapy. This study will provide study medication or placebo that shows promise in delaying or stopping the advancement of this problem into cancer.
- Men who have Prostate Cancer WITHOUT bone metastasis who have PSA's that are rising, despite hormone therapy. This is a study providing medication or placebo for the prevention of developing bone metastasis.
- Men who have Prostate Cancer WITH bone metasisis who have PSA's that are rising, depite hormone therapy. This is a study providing one of two different treatments to prevent further destruction or new bone involvement from cancer.
- Men who have been diagnosed with a very early stage of Prostate Cancer and have not yet received any treatment for their cancer. This study will provide a study medication or placebo to men with this diagnosis in the hopes that it will prevent or delay their cancer from advancing.
- Overactive bladder. This study is for men or women who have problems with frequency and urgency with urination. This patient will also have problems with urinary leakage because they can't quite make it to the bathroom on time.
